Feature Story: Spring is just around the corner at Bear Lake! Canada geese, mallards and northern pintails have begun to arrive at the Bear Lake National Wildlife Refuge located near the north end of Bear Lake. Sandhill cranes can easily been seen, usually as pairs preparing to nest. Some sections of the refuge will be closed during the nesting season but you can always use the public roads around the refuge and the trails on the north end for excellent viewing opportunities.
