Cowboy Gathering in Bear Lake

The 3rd Annual Bear Lake Cowboy Gathering, All Horse Parade and Butch Cassidy Shootout

Sponsored by the Western Music Association, will take place the weekend of July 8th-10th, 2011.

The “Gathering” abounds with many well known Western Music Association artists—both musicians and poets. This year, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, an All Horse Parade ( in downtown Montpelier) is joining the festivities, along with a re-enactment of the Butch Cassidy Bank Holdup arranged by the Bear Lake Montpelier Chamber of Commerce. Bring your horses, buggies & wagons to join the fun!

Three stages, FREE ADMISSION, will run all day Friday and Saturday, with many opportunities for musicians and poets to use the available open mikes at the Rae Crane Multiplex, Bear Lake County Fairgrounds, north of Montpelier. The stages at Wells Stock Park (Hwy 30) and Kings Parking Lot (downtown) will be filled, all day, with musicians.  Non-denominational Cowboy Church held at the Fairgrounds at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.

NIGHT SHOWS Friday & Saturday, with the Preshow starting at 6:30 p.m., will be held at the Rae Crane Multiplex,  Bear Lake County Fairgrounds.  Tickets are $10 with children under 12 free.  Family prices available. Bring a copy of this article and RECEIVE $2.00 OFF individual ticket prices.

Produced by Arden and Jan Gailey, the “Gathering” is a non-profit event.  Any proceeds, after expenses, will be donated to scholarships and charity.
“Please come out and support this all weekend event.  We need to show these terrific entertainers, coming from far and wide at their own expense, that our beautiful Bear Lake Valley is a lot of fun, friendly and appreciative,” Arden Gailey said.

The Gaileys encourage those in the Bear Lake Valley, whether a resident or a visitor, to come and entertain with their poems or songs.  Spectators need to stop by the Bear Lake Fairgrounds, Wells Stock Park or Kings Parking Lot to view all the activity and entertainment.  Food available at the Fairgrounds.

Anyone wanting more information should contact the Gaileys at 208-847-3930 or email at bearlakejan@gmail.com.
