Bear Lake's 9th Annual Girl's Fast-Pitch Softball Tournament

June 20th & 21st, 2008

at Allinger Park in Montpelier, Idaho

INFORMATION SHEET

1. Pool Play
A. Pool play will last five (5) innings and will have no new inning start after 55 minutes.
B. International tie breaker-- into effect when the 55- minute time limit or five (5) innings have expired.
C. During Pool Play Games, you will be able to bat your entire roster with open substitution.
D. In Pool Play, an 8-run slaughter rule will come into effect after the 4th inning or 50 minutes.

2. Regular tournament bracketed games
A. Seven (7) innings and no new inning will start after one hour and ten minutes (1:10). B. International tie breaker--into effect when 70-minutes or seven (7) innings have expired.
C. In Bracket Play, the 8-run slaughter rule will come in to effect after the 5th inning or one hour.
D. The Championship Game will last seven (7) innings unless the 8-run rule is imposed.
E. The If-Necessary game will be one hour and ten minutes (1:10) unless the 8-run rule is in effect.

3. OFFICIAL SCOREBOOK:
A. The home team will provide the official scorekeeper for that game.
B. Use the official scorebook provided by the tournament.
C. SCOREBOOK GOES TO TOURNAMENT SCOREKEEPER AT END OF GAME.
 
4. HOME TEAM:
A. Home team will be determined by a coin toss conducted by the Official Tournament Scorekeeper.
B. Managers/Team Captains need to be at the field 20 minutes before game time for the coin toss.
C. If you are not present, the coin toss will take place without you.
D. Both line-ups will be given to the scorekeeper at that time.
E. HAVE THE OFFICIALBOOK READY BY GAME TIME.
F. Championship Game--undefeated team is home; If-Necessary Game--winner of previous game.
 
5. DUGOUTS:
A. Home Team gets the third-base dugout except back-to-back games-- remain in same dugout.
B. Please keep dugouts clean of all trash.
 
6. INFIELD:
A. Practice is NOT allowed on the infield (that is defined as inside the foul lines on the dirt).
B. Adjacent areas can be used for warming up.
 
7. BIRTH CERTIFICATES:
A. Supply proof of age to the Tournament Director when checking in for the tournament. This includes everyone on the high school team.

B. Please pick up your packet before leaving the tournament.
 
8. PROTESTS:
A. The tournament committee will rule on all protests except rule interpretations.
B. The tournament umpire-in-chief will rule on interpretations.
C. Protests and appeals need to be made before the game begins or continues if at all possible.
D. The tournament committee reserves the right to make rulings not specifically covered herein, which are deemed to be in the best interest of the tournament.
E. All decisions by the tournament committee are final.
 
9. GAME TIMES:
A. You are responsible to check for game times and/or changes due to weather, late games, etc.
B. Game time is forfeit time.
